Organizations use avatars that are digital assistants who interact with the users, thus saving the need of human resources.
They can do dangerous tasks that humans can’t.
The cost might be really high while repaired.
Machines do not sleep or take breaks.

Jesus's Year Reflection

Jesus's Year Reflection

 My Year in Grade 5
I had a great year in grade 5. I made a lot of friends and learned a lot of things. It was the first time I had a unit on narrative writing. It was also the first time I learned arabic. I was nervous when I was going to learn arabic, but now, it's one of my favorite subjects. I had a great year in fifth grade.

Reading
Since I got here at CAC, my reading skills have been growing a lot because of reading I had here. First we started with jot notes, then character developing. First, we read Edward's eyes, at the end it was really sad and we got to write jot notes each time Mrs. Greene read it.The hardest of all was the fantasy unit. You never knew what was going to happen because anything could happen. In realistic fiction you could easily tell what was going to happen but in fantasy it's almost impossible. I improved a lot in reading and want to improve more.

Writing
Writing was one of the hardest subjects in fifth grade. For me, the best of all the units in writing was Fantasy. It is the best unit for me because you could write stories about things that would never happen.  You could also make any kind of characters but it was also hard to make them because you would have to develop them so the readers can understand what kind of characters were they. Argumentative essays was another unit and it was pretty hard too. We had to research about a world issue and argue about if it's good or bad. At the end, it wasn't that hard, it was easier than what I thought.

Math
Math is my favorite subject. I love solving story problems and I have learned how to draw tape diagrams. It is really fun to solve problems in groups because if someone gets a different answer than the other people we get to argue why is our answer correct and at the end, someone might get it correct. Some problems were really easy, some were a bit challenging but I liked them all.

Science
Science is a really fun subject because of the experiments we get to do. One of them was the stream table project. First, we put the clay with sand mixture, then we flatten the sand, finally, we poured water on the mixture and look for signs of erosion. This was only one of the experiments, there were a lot more.

Social Studies
One of my favorite units in social studies was the Columbian Exchange. We got to make a role play, or persuasive writing. I chose the persuasive writing. We also got to choose who were we talking to and who were we. I chose to be an aztec persuading Moctezuma that the spanish people had to leave because they were going to take over. It was an amazing unit. Right now we are working on the unit World Development. This unit is about how the world has changed and the things with it.

Citizenship - CORE Values
Core Values are a really important part of CAC too. The Core Values are: Integrity, Compassion, Courage, Respect, Responsibility, Creativity, and Perseverance. Fifth grade had to write about what Core Value was the best for you and why. I chose Integrity because doing the right thing when no one is looking makes you feel proud of yourself, you don't need credit when you do the right thing, knowing that you did it is enough.

Mosts
Most Challenging: The most challenging thing here at CAC is Writing.
Most Enjoyable: The most enjoyable thing for me here at CAC is Math.
Most Proud of: The thing that I'm most proud of here at CAC is Arabic.
Most Growth: The thing that I most grew here at CAC is Reading.

Thesis statement

Introducing the best of this year's Nobel Prize Winner in social sciences for really experienced scientists, Jesus Garcia for his fascinating and informative research on computing. Jesus Garcia comes from Mexico and has being studying this topic for years and has found out things that nobody ever has found.

THESIS STATEMENT.
I found out that computers are going to be so smart and strong, that they are going to be taking jobs but are also going to be really beneficial and are going to find out things that not even I am not capable of finding out.

Essential Questions
1. How is science and technology changing the world... past, present and future...?

Answer: It's changing the world by the cars, cellphone, airplanes, TV, etc. It has changed in many ways like medicine, communication, transportation, food. It also has changed us, before kids played outside, and now they play with their ipad and electronic things.

2. Are these changes good? Why or Why not?

Answer: Some of this changes are good like the airplane, but some are bad because they take jobs from people.

world development

This is a blurp of three of the tabs that I researched about in the Unit World Development.

1. Transportation: Transportation has changed over time and the world with it. From horses to cars, it has helped everyone get where they wanted to get in a faster way than horses but their are facing a problem right now, traffic. Blood cells travel through veins without any traffic, they don't crash or stop traveling, they continue and never stop. Right now, people are trying to find out how to make cars like that. They are thinking about a bus that does not stop, one section of the bus separates from the bus and the bus keeps going, the section that separated stops and the people get out. Soon, there will be no traffic.

2. Impact on life: In this topic a woman was talking about how video games had an impact on life, a lot of children play video games, a lot of teenagers play video games, and also adults play video games. You might think that video games affect your sight but it doesn't, it actually makes it better. You also might think that video games distract you a lot, but it doesn't, it actually makes you more focused, research has shown that people who play video games are more focused and see better than people who do not play video games.

3.Computing: In this subject, a man was talking about how computers have evolved, he said that a man made a computer to beat him at checkers, at first, the man beat the computer but then, the computer got better and better until it beat the man, so computers can learn by themselves. Computers have artificial intelligence, computers are a lot more accurate and faster than humans so they are used to organize stuff in sections like pictures but not a little amount, a huge amount, they don't take a lot of time doing it, humans would take days organizing and computers would just take a few hours. Computers are also taking jobs from people.

My final decision will be computing, i like it and will be fun to research about it.

My Reflections
In this unit I have learned that erosion has made a lot of changes in the world. Now I know how the canyons were made and why some mountains look different from others. I also learned about weathering, it is like erosion, the only difference is that weathering is made by the atmosphere and erosion is made by water and wind. By the experiments we made in the lab, I learned that if we change a single variable, the result will change by a lot, for example, if we use the slope, the water will make a tunnel through the sand, and if we take the slope out, the water won't pass through the sand, it will make a waterfall. Before, I didn't know what the essential questions were, but now I can answer them.

1. How does water affect landforms?
My answer is that, when rivers pass through a landform many times during a long period, the landform will become a canyon.

2. How does Earth change over time?
It changes over time because of the weather, and because of natural disasters, like tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornados. It can also change because of temperature.

3.Why does the surface look the way it does?
Because it changes over time.
